I debated for the first time in my debating team and im the second speaker. When someone has made a good point on something, i get nervous, then have no arguments to rebut. How do you debate? :S
If you debate as an second speaker, you have to know some points which the first speaker has brought up , and use them at the start , by first making your introduction, and address the audience in a polite way, and then use all that you know about the topic of the debate, and agree with the first speaker ,on some of the issues he brought up, do not try to out do the first speaker, just be your self, and do not be shy at all.
