This is how I vote:
If the question needs a 1 word answer I give everybody who gives that one word 5 stars. That is all the question asks for and I think if somebody adds more details it is his/her choice and is not needed. I don't see how a 1 word answer could be made better when the actual answer is only one word. That is ALL the question asks for after all.
If the question needs an explanation (for example a riddle that needs an explanation so that you actually get the riddle) I give 4 stars to those who miss the explanation but give the correct answer. I give 5 stars to those who give the correct answer with the explanation.
If the answer is wrong I give it 3 stars except when it is rude or the answerer shows NO effort or posts something like "I don't know"!
I come across A LOT of those questions with the Best Answer Ribbon for an answer that is not really better than others in terms of what the question asks for!
