I am writing a lesson plan for a kindergarten class as an assignment in one of my classes. The theme is pumpkins. I understand how to check their understanding on the science part (life cycle of a plant) but not the math part. I had them estimate the circumference of the pumpkin with string, then place them in order from smallest to largest. I also had them estimate the number of seeds in the pumpkin. They then counted them out in groups of ten to learn about hundreds, tens and ones place. How can I test their math comprehension?
