How would you relocate fish?

I have three corys a bn plecco *1.5 now grows max 5inches* and a beta fish, I am getting a bigger tank.. and returning the first one. Should I keep the beta in a fish bowl for the 24 hour waiting period?
And put the corys and plecco in my firebelly newt bowl? How deep does the water have to be? Should I put them in a plastic box with some gravel? I can't part with them, and I can't keep the old filter.
 
Well it is possibility but they might not live. The betta should be good in a bowl for 24hrs but the cory's and plecco's are a different story. People have had cory's and pleccos in bowls before but it might be to big of a change because there is a huge oxygen change that they might get stressed and die or even drown. I would go to your local pet store and see if they can keep them for you in one of there tank separated from the selling ones or try a friend who has an aquarium.
