It's quite frustrating to get beat by a player with bad mechanics for strokes besides slice. He's a left handed player. I'm don't know how he does it, but when I blast forehand shots at him, deep and flat, he redirects my shots to another place on the court extremely flatly when I'm expecting it not to come back. He constantly slices short shots (the slice shots have a very good knifing action) or slices long when I hit it hard. This consistent slicing causes a lot of unforced errors for me.
Me:
Forehand- Paced, topspin or flat eastern. I have a whipping action on my forehand that uses a lot of wrist. My best shot.
Backhand- Two handed eastern. Slice, flat, or topspin. Most consistent shot.
Weakness- Footwork
I prefer to stand close to the baseline, and rip hard, flat top spinners from both wings.
Don't get me wrong. Against other players who hit hard top spinner shots, my forehand and backhand works wonderfully.
