how would i wire a switch on my ford probs starter/READ DETAILS!?

i have a 94 ford probe. and the guy i got it from lost the key and he had to buy a new steering Calum, he put it together but its still not working right.when i turn the key the lights and everything like that will turn on but it want start. or make any kind of noise.. so i want to wire a switch to the starter so the car will start..thats wat i was told.
 
got to route a wire from the battery to a push type switch...which is then routed to the starter...it will replace the positive connection on the starter...

make sure the wire is a big enough gauge...
