how would I remove the rear axle on a 2001 cadillac catera?

I'm trying to remove the rear housing"pumpkin" and I'm having troubles
Ok, I have the owner's manual but all it tells me is how to put the oil it. I'm looking for information on how to or where to the find information on how to remove the rear axle.
