I am plugging in an old turntable into the 3.5mm line in jack on my laptop. Whenever this line in is connected, any sound that runs through it is automatically outputted through the speakers. The only way to turn it off is to cut out the sound all together. Here lies the problem...I want to use this turntable to DJ with (I only have a usb midi DJ controller). I need to be able to route this line in to the virtual mixing consule and be able to cue it (listen to it on my headphones), before I mix it into the output. How would I go about doing this? I have Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop.
How would I keep my line in from taking over the rest of my computer sounds? Connecting turntable to line in?
