how would i hook up a DSi to my wii in order to download things and put photos on?

well im tinking of buying a DSi and i see these things abotu like download n play
i wanna know how i can download DS things to put on the DSi. and how would i put photos from my DSi onto my wii
is the only way through SD cards or can i hook some sort of USB and do it that way
