How would I go about approaching the Dean in this situation?

I won't go into great detail as it is rather length but I'll give you the gist.
I emailed my professor requesting to use a kindle in class as opposed to printing off 10 sheets of paper for each class. She said no, and then further went to justify her answer in the following manner:
She said that, since the kindle is an electronic device, it will further distract me. She went on saying that she has no reason to believe I do the readings, pay attention in class, or make any attempt to understand the studies and discussions.
I found this to be the most insulting thing I have been told by ANYONE in my entire life. I know this doesn't sound serious but I feel like I'm being harassed, as I've been extremely nice to her (even after she dropped me as her research assistant without ANY explanation). I did do the readings, and I do listen in class. The studies are difficult, hence the reason for discussion. Not all students will understand the studies.
Is this something I should approach the Dean for? I'm feeling extremely discouraged by what my professor said to me. Also, how would I discuss this with the Dean without this somehow getting back to the teacher and therefore affecting how she grades me?

Thanks so much for your input.
