future job applications? I quit my job of 1 year & 9 months today. I work(ed) at a daycare & for the most part loved it. But twice now I have told parents something I thought they really needed to know after my boss didn't address the situations. One time was when the girl was purposely being scared by a teacher, & now this time the girl has been crying & screaming for me a lot during the day because she is very attached to me (I used to nanny for her) & it has been going on everyday for 4 months without the parents' knowledge. I have tried to not see her during the day, be firm with her, be soft with her, etc. Everything I can think of & nothing helps. I feel she's in a lot of distress.
Both times I felt the parents had a right to know what was going on, especially because my boss & coworkers weren't handling the situations.
I got in huge trouble today for telling about the girl's attachment to me & I gave my two weeks' notice.
I am only 19, so this was my first job. How will this obvious lack of a good reference affect my future job applications? And do YOU think I did the right thing by telling the parents?
