I am 32 and independent? I have no income to report and I am independent, but I was selected for verification. I was asked who will I be living with. I answered "with my parents" Why do they ask this if I am independent. Shouldn't they think I am to live independently since I am an "independent student" I pay rent and am a independent student. will renting/residing in a room from my elderly parents affect my funds?
plus, this year they changed the fasfa by not asking independent students for their parents information. I just dont know why the college wants to know my residence status eg. "where will you live durring the...school year A. with your parents b. away from parents
it seems like they want to squeeze some from my parents if you will. If I am independent, I am independent. I pay rent and feed myself. it just happens to be my parents who I choose to live with at the moment.
