i have no parents and very few family members that can help. i have a small serving job that doesn't pay much and i have credit card bills and phone bills and rent with roommates to pay. but i need to enlisht in order to clear my debt and finish school and be able to support a family.

You will be getting paid during your training, once per month. You can set up direct pay with most bills, but I would suggest cancelling your phone (you won't be able to use it) and why would you pay rent? You're not returning to that apartment. You get a break that collection agencies cannot get a court order to take military wages, so once you get out and are in tech school you will be able to straighten more out. In the meantime, you can talk to your recruiter about having your mail forwarded to you at boot camp, but by the time they get it there, you might have moved on. Almost everything can be paid by internet, though, so you're best bet is to go that route and you may just have to wait a bit before being able to catch up. Best of luck and Aim High!

First off, it's Air Force Basic, Boot Camp is for Marine Recruits. But in answer to your question, the best thing you can do is talk to your recruiter and contact a representative from whatever companies are billing you and set up an automatic payment system from either your bank account or you may be able to have the military automatically send a portion of your paycheck to the billing entities.

While in the military, you will be provided for all the basic needs, food, housing, clothing, and a small salary. That would be the time for you to start paying off your debts and then start a savings account. While on active duty you can go to night school for almost nothing so you can finish school or go on for graduate studies.
