My debate is about arranged marriages. i am against them.
Some of my points are:
Some families do it to consolidate political or financial power.
The children have no opinion in who they are going to marry it is all their parents decision
Sometimes the children are meeting his or her future spouse just before the wedding or even at the wedding day itself
Some couples never fall in love with their spouse, but they are stuck with them for the rest of their life.
Most often the girl is forced to sacrifice their likes and adjust to the reality.
Some arranged marriages are used as child abuse. Young girls are sold at young ages and are forced to have children with older men. They cannot say anything because their parents sold them.
Lazy way out of things. These children become very dependent on their parents. Eventually it becomes harder for them to make decisions on their own.
