financial hardship? I pleaded not guilt to a speed ticket and I was found guilty; therefore, I have to pay it. My wife and I are unemployed and I want to know how to write a letter to the judge to prove financial hardship and instead I want to do volunteer work.
 
The time to have asked for that was when you were in court.

Don't write to the judge; the request would go to the court.
