How to write a book report?

Hi, i need to write a book report about a book called Private by Kate Brian. Unfortunately i have no idea how to write a book report as i have never done it before. I am in year 9 at school and i live in Britain so year 9 is different to the 9th grade in America or Canada. I would appreciate it if you could give me a basic idea of how to write one and maybe give some ideas.
