Hey y'all, I have a stereo headphone that had the plug vacuumed and I have to replace it. I cut off the old damaged plug expecting to find a three wire configuration with three wires, one for left channel, one for right channel, and the braided shield wire for ground. The problem is there is no shield and there are four wires. One red, one green, and two white. The replacement plug I bought of course has only three connections for tip, ring, and sleeve. So my question is how do I wire it? I'm assuming one white wire is the sleeve or ground. What is the other white wire for? I'm used to much older applications than this so I don't know. I'm thinking it's also ground, and if it is do I just connect both white wires to the sleeve terminal on the plug. Thanks for your help.
