How to wear a cute mini denim skirt?

Ok so im a sophmore. This guy pissed me off and broke my heart and i want to look nice today to show him what he lost. Its winter so its cold out so i will need leggings with my skirt most likely but i can do without. I want to look nice, my mini denim skirt is my favorite outfit piece, so what can i wear with it that a normal 15 year old girl would own. Please help D= Thanks
