How to wash a black sports car with dirt and salt on it?

My new black sports car just went through a snow storm. There is tons of dirt and probably salt on it. How should I go about getting off the dirt and salt? I've tried the power washer but there is still a ton of residue remaining. I'm ready to tackle it with Meguiars car washing soap and a lot of micro fiber towels. Is there anything else i should remember. The car is 4 years old but when i picked it up from the dealer it didnt have any swirl marks in the black paint. now i'm worried that when i clean the dirt off it will create swirl marks. does anyone have any tips/suggestions?
