How to use my TV as a computer monitor?

My mother wants to watch movies through Netflix, and my PS3 broke so she can't watch any of her favorite shows or movies that she wants. My room is literally inches away from our living room tv. The TV is a 2010 26" Tv, and my computer and monitor is a 2010 Compaq PC. Are there any ways or plugs to get to see my computer through the TV?
