USB drives are very simple to use.
When you first plug it in a "found new hardware" window will come up and will install it.
Go to my computer and open up the flash drive file.
Now you can drag the files you want into the flash drive file.

put the stick in one of your USB ports, it should pop up with "new hardware found"

Make a briefcase on your flash drive and copy the files you want to back up to it. This way, when you make changes that you want to keep, you update the files in the briefcase. On the other hand, if you made changes to the original files and wanted to get the older version, you can copy them from the briefcase.
