I moved overseas from the US last year and had to Jailbreak/Unlock my iPhone to use it. I was able to do it on version 4.0.1 OS and firmware 5.13.04. Since Apple has released various upgrades of the OS since then, I am wondering if it is safe to move to a higher version of the OS. My specific questions are:
1. What is the safest Jailbreak/Unlock solution available?
2. What version of OS does it support?
3. Are there any step-by-step online guides on how to upgrade to the newer version?
4. Are there any compelling reasons to upgrade to the new OS (performance, battery life, less dropped calls)?
