how to update the handheld SW (from ...286 to ...346)

hi colleagues,

please, advice me ho to execute the update procedure?

1) i have a desktop manager ver.4.1.1.9 [Feb.24 2006]
2) i have SW version in the device v.4.1.0.286 (platform 2.0.0.123)
3) i have installed Handheld Version (4.1.0.346), dowloaded from t-mo upgrade area
4) i have connected device - there is no update initialisation process...

where i have made mistake?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~have you tried starting the app loader from the desktop manager, this will allow you to update the os. Let us know if this helps
 
How did you install the new OS in Step 3? You might have to delete the vendor.xml file after you install the file.

i have tried on different ways...

i have:

1) deleted all RIM Applications (and have chacked via regedit)
2) re-installed Descktop Manager (file name 41112dtMULT.exe)
3) re-installed Handheld Version (4.1.0.346) with plugged-off device and closed DM

still nothing
 
i have found a file in a directory

C:\Documents and Settings\name\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader History

0x24FD03AB.xml - deleted

start DM again - nope
 
Tiro, The file you want to delete named vendor.xml. That is the only one you want to delete. It is located in the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.

Re-execute the downloaded OS file.

Find the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader folder using Windows Explorer and delete the file "vendor.xml"

Now try connecting your BB. and opening the App loader in DM.
