how to update acer liquid metal to android 2.3?

ok so since googled showcased android ice cream sandwhich, the factthat my phone is still running froyo 2.2.1 and not gingerbread 2.3 has been bugging me... a lot, can someone plz tell me how to update the update application says it cant find updates, 10 easy points plz hel pur my only hope
