How to Enter Unlock Codes on Sony Ericsson Cell Phones (all models):



If your phone has a "JOGDIAL" (for example SonyEricsson K700i), then you must press the "down arrow" instead of the "left arrow" for step 3 & 5. By "Down Arrow" I mean directing the Jogdial down!

No, this would be entirely dependant on how close you are to the new carrier you have switched to. if you are closer to the new carrier, you will most likely get a stronger signal ;) .
 
yes the carriers are independent of each other, unlocking will allow you switch from carrier to carrier using the same sony ericsson phone
