how to unlock carrier on iphone 3g?

Hey, i recently jailbroke my iphone 3g and it froze , so i restored it to its normal self and updated it to 4.2.1 and now it wont let me use my optus sim card i can even go past the unlock screen because it just goes straight to emergency call. i was wondering if there was any way i can unlock with a Program thanks :)
