How to unblock school internet?

Does anyone know how to get past a school blocking system? From our own laptops, pupils connect to an internal network and through that to the internet. Anyone know of a free vpn or something like TOR? I'm looking for more than just a proxy server as I want to make MSN work...

As a point, this is a boarding school, not in the US, so please don't get all judgmental as it is neither illegal nor immoral.

but, it was still set up this way for a reason,

so, no... I will not help you hack around a school firewall,

If you had a legitmate reason for wanting the access you seek,

then why haven't you been granted that access by the netowrk admins? There must be a reason why you haven't asked them,
