How to turn my life around?

Hello everyone.

My name is David, I'm a 21 year old South African and I'm new on this forum. Please excuse any misspellings or gramatical errors, English is not my first language.

I honestly do not know if this posted in the right section as I have a few areas in my life I need to improve. If this is in the wrong section, I ask a moderator to please put it in the right place.

I'm currently battling with Obesity (along with this comes stretchmarks, being very unhealthy, having aches and pains, inability to do any serious physical activity and a very negative self image), as well as trouble making friends in the real world, loneliness, depression and a string of other areas of my life I am not happy with.

My biggest problem though (I believe) is in my mind. I start with an idea, plan or a program and lose will in the first 24 hours. I look at myself and think/feel that I cannot change, who am I kidding? Or the environment I am in makes it almost impossible to stick with a plan because of temptation and habbit (I'm staying with my parents as I have no job and cannot pay rent).

I have to get healthy as soon as possible, I have no medical insurance, no way of paying any medical bills and if anything happens to me I do not know what I will do. So health is one of the biggest parts of my life I need to improve.

I am at wit's end, how do I make a lasting change in my life? How do I form a permanent, possitive habbit? How do you overcome this... lnertia? I want to change but I don't know where to begin.

If anyone here has been in a similar situation in their life I ask you to please share with me what you've done to make a lasting, personal change.

Kind regards,
David

The only way to make any kind of change is one step at a time. Start wiith a small goal (for example, walk 15 minuets every day)and work your way up from there. Change is not easy but with each small step that you accomplish you will be able to tell yourself I am one step closer to my goal. And just remember this the journey of 1000 miles begins with One step
