three days ago my finger got cut open (but not cut off!!) by a spinning blade. the cut was deep, it cut some nerves and tissue and it was squirting blood. i went to the ER and got it cleaned out, dead flesh removed, and stitches put in. the thing is the doctor just told me to change the wrappings and get the stitches out in 5 days to a week. he perscribed antibiotics and painkillers to be taken every 12 hours and that was that. he was very general and gave me a figurative boot out the door (it was a busy night in the ER) but that night i had to leave the country (the tickets had been bought prior to the accident. ) so i haven't been able to go to the doctor and ask. i only want to go to the doctor to get the stitches out since visits are expensive and i don't have insurance here. so please give me informed answers on how to clean my finger!
