How to tell my boyfriend that my scars on my arm are from me self harming?

Last year I was severely depressed and I used to cut. Well I am now left with four scars on my arm and they pretty noticeable. I am always trying to hide them but, now it's summer and it's hard to do so. My boyfriend hasn't seen them yet but, were going to the beach on Tuesday and he is for sure going to see them then. And knowing my boyfriend when he sees them he will ask right away. How to tell him?

I don't self harm anymore :)

We have been dating two months.

I don't want to say it was my cat because he would know I am lying....
