How to talk to a girl that i have no classes with?

So there's this girl who i think is really cute and smart but i don't have any classes with her. I knew her about 4 years ago but even when i knew her i never really talked to her. So anyways, she goes to my high school now (we're both in grade 9) and i just wanted to know how to get to know her better, and i dont think asking her out without having talked to her in 4 years would be normal =P.

P.S. my friend knows her but i kinda stopped talking to my her(my friend).
 
all i can suggest is try to "meet" her on the way home, or at the store and strike a conversation. take it from there.
 
buddy, follow her after school, throw her in the bushes and screw that chik for all she is worth.
