How would you go about talking to your & yr old girl about a death of a very close friend of the family? According to the police (still under investigation) of a herion overdose, he was 25. This has not been confirmed, and as he was like a brother to my husband and myself we do not believe it to voluntary. My daughter was very close to him, they went to movies, chinese and talked about everything. He was very much an uncle to her (and no he never went alone with her; always with my husband or his son). This just happened Sunday night and the funeral, which we raised money for, is Saturday. Everyone at the funeral will be talking about what happened and I do not feel comfortable with her hearing the conversations. So, my question.... should I take her to the funeral? How do I explain what happened? How do I comfort her?
