how to take care of a gold fish?

i am a beginner and i want him(fish) happy long healthy life and i just bought a 15 liter bowl and i don't know which kind of gold fish to buy and what to and how to take care of him
can please give full information about it
 
I can't repeat enough what catx said. Goldfish require 20 gallons for the first goldfish and 10 gallons for the next (NOT LITRES, that's about 80 litres for one and 40 for the next). So to keep 1 goldfish you need a 20 gallon/80 litre tank.

Why? They are very messy fish, make a lot of waste, and can grow to over a foot long!
 
I've had goldfish and if your not used to taking care of fish, its going to die. I dont know who said goldfish were a great starter pet...but they lied. They're a great starter pet if you cope with death well! Whereas my goldfish would hardly last for two weeks, I finally decided to buy a Betta (siamese fighting fish) and I've had this little sucker for nearly a year! I named him Pablo. I know goldfish are really cheap but trust me spend the extra couple of bucks and buy yourself a Betta. You'll end up alot happier.
