Hello. How can I syncronize contacts between a HTC Hero and an iPhone? After reading a lot I have opened an gmail account, but I cant find the google sync, and I dont know if this is the best way....

Any help, please?

Are you trying to copy the contacts off your iPhone to your Hero? Or copy the contacts from your Hero to your iPhone? Or do you want to keep them in sync all of the time (i.e. adding a contact on one means it will appear on the other)?

If you log into the GMail account associated with your Hero on the web, you should see all of the contacts you have on your phone in there. You can export or import contacts through the web interface by going to Contacts, and then clicking the import or export links at the top right. You can import contacts from "CSV files from Outlook, Outlook Express, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, Eudora and some other apps." They also "support importing vCard from apps like Apple Address Book".

You can export contacts in Google CSV format (for importing into a Google account), Outlook CSV format (for importing into Outlook or another application), and vCard format (for importing into Apple Address Book or other application).

If you want to keep your two phones in sync, then you'll have to find some way of syncing your iPhone with a Google account, and then just point it at Google account your Hero uses.

Thanks for answering. Your questions:

- Both phones are professional, so I would like to keep them in sync. Anyway, main contacts are now in iPhone, and I tried to copy them into the hro by several procedures and its impossible...

- When I log into the GMail account associated with my Hero on the web, I cant see any contact I have on my phone.

- The export/import option you say, I cant see it in gmail by phone. I see it in Gmail when I enter trough my PC Internet Explorer. But, this option say import from csv or Vcard, it doesnt say anything about mobile.

- Other thing is that when I connect my Hero to PC with usb, the PC cant recognize the mobile. I think I need a program, but dont know how to get it.

- "If you want to keep your two phones in sync, then you'll have to find some way of syncing your iPhone with a Google account, and then just point it at Google account your Hero uses. "
I think this will be the second to do. First, I wolud like to have sync the Hero with google/gmail, and then, try to sync iPhone.

As you can see, Im really lost... can you help me in anything? Thank you

All Android phones sync with a google account, unless you've turned that feature off.

Do you have syncing turned on in Home -> Menu -> Settings -> Data synchronization. Does Contacts have a green tick next to it? If you untick it and tick it again you should see a rotating sync symbol next to it while it syncs with the Google account associated with the phone.

The import/export option is only available online, yes.

Exporting to CSV or vCard files allow other programs to use your contacts. Apple products seem to like the vCard format. I have no idea if you can import these files directly into an iPhone, as I know nothing about iPhones. But, you may find an iPhone app that can import contacts from CSV of vCard files, or you may find a Windows program that can import such files and send them to your iPhone.

Unless you can find an app that allows your iPhone to sync with a Google account then you will not be able to keep your two phones in sync.

You will also need to find the contacts in your google account online. I'm not sure why you can't see them. They should be there unless you've turned syncing off on your phone like I described above.

Uauhhh! Im passing contacts from hero to gmail!!! Its like magic!

I found the problem, its seems that if you dont configure the google account the first time you switch on the phone, it doesnt work. So I have reset the mobile with fabric adjustments, and configure everything like it were new. And now it works.

Now i have to explore the options in the iphone one.

Thank you
