My step dad recently bought a new camera for himself and he is letting me and my brother use his old one. Its a Sony DSLR-A100. It looks like this:

I know its kind of an advance piece of equipment for me and I honestly don't know much about how to take good pictures. I read the manuals so I know how the camera works and all but I need some tips on how to take decent pictures. I am going with my mom to an island beach resort (she has some business there) and I am just going to tag along and I plan on taking the camera for fun.
