I'm writing about how much he has changed the United States for the better. The prompt asked who in history impacted the US for the better... I chose him because of his abolishment of slavery and him being a good role model. please help?

I need a first sentence for the opening paragraph!

Many you may not know that President Lincoln wanted to abolish private banks and have our money issued by the Treasury. The Fed did not like that and might have put a stop to that. President Kennedy, years latter, started issuing silver backed paper money , and he was stopped. The privately owned FED is in Control of printing "fiat" money. There is no backing. No hard assets. They printed so much cash that it has devalued our dollar. Lincoln was one of the first to see this happening and tried to stop it. He should be commended on that.

"In our nations lexicon of presidents, none has done more for the united states and civil liberties then Abe Lincoln.."

"Our nation has seen some great leaders, but none matched ..."

"of all our presidents, only one had to endure a civil war and a torn country. ..."

Careful though, if you got a picky history teacher they could retort with LBJ doing more for civil rights (which he did), or JFK as a better role model
good luck!
