how to start a new diet/lifestyle?

generally i eat quite healthy
i eat healthy foods and only have a few small treats a day
but i eat a lot of carbs, protien and fats in excess amounts
so i was wondering how i can start eating more healthy and rely less on carbs and protein
is there a good way that i can ease myself into a good diet/lifestyle?
