How to setup Freeserve email outgoing settings on HTC Desire?

I have an old FREESERVE email account, which all my friends and the world know me by, so I am reluctant to give it up. I am able to receive my email from "freeserve" (Orange), but am unable to send emails, despite taking mobile to Orange, T-Mobile and Carphone Warehouse and hours of going through Orange's step by step email settings instructions.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

HTC Desire
T-Mobile (air time contract)
