how to set up email on blackberry bold why cant i add contacts uding pins to bbm?

there is no personal email option in the setup folder and would like to set up a hotmail email account on the blackberry bold.

also have tried adding a friend using their pin number on bbm and they are not recieving the request. they are also sending me requests using my pin and i am not recieving them.
