how to set motorola w388 to use mp3 songs as ringtones?

hey guys I need help, I cant set my mp3 music files as ringtone, please help.
THIS PHONE PLAYS MP3 FILES, BUT I CANT SET THEM AS RINGTONES! IT SAYS MEDIA FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED
