How to save a video sent to me on my Motorola Droid?

I have tried to save a video sent to me like I do a picture by hitting the picture down and waiting for the "Save to SD card" prompt comes on. This does not happen when I hold down the video link - it only plays the video. Does anyone know how to save? The on line manual does not go into this. Thank you!
