How to run a kids power wheels jeep?

I bought a jeep for my niece from a garage sale and they told me the battery didn't work. The guy said he could jump it and proved it worked. I didn't have him do that because he seemed trustworthy. I brought it home and i hooked my battery charger to it (one i used to jump my car) and it doesn't work. The charger might be dead because it hasn't been charged in a while, but i was thinking maybe wasn't turning it on. Its been forever since Ive saw one, and this is an older one, but is there a power switch or do you just push the peddle. Any suggestions
