How to reset Cadillac Deville security system once triggered.?

My husband was working on our '99 Cadillac Deville. He disconnected the battery and rolled it off his ramps. Between these two actions, he triggered the security system. While engaged the car cannot be driven. We searched all over the internet and have found no solutions. We have tried disconnecting the battery again and waiting. Any one know how to reset the system so i can drive my car again?

If you have set the alarm system off, lock the driver door, and then unlock it with the key and that should reset the security system.
