For the record, I do not smoke. I don't actually use the lighter (haven't seen it in years) but I do use the receptacle to charge my cell phone and my iPod. Recently, I haven't been able to get power to any device. I've already replaced a blown fuse and when that didn't work I picked up a new lighter receptacle. Now in my car, the receptacle isn't entirely contained in the dash - there's a little drawer that comes out whenever you need to use it. Behind this drawer you can clearly see the electrical connections - which are simple enough to handle. My question is how to physically remove the receptacle from this drawer. There doesn't appear to be anything holding it in place but its difficult to see that part. I've got no idea lol.

Thanks in advance :)

try buying one from the dealer they are cheap. if you buy a aftermarket one it won't work.

Observe it extensivly, look for retaining clips that may release it, unhook the negative side on the battery so you dont get zapped when you attempt to do this, take the old one out, hook the new one up.

check the fuse first then really replacing the unit is easy most clip in place from behind an dmost are muti fit so any where you can find one to fit your car really easy to do it the drawer should pul out or have screws holding it in should be hard to do it
