It is totally apart with a wide gap between the two. The front part almost drags with the road, the rear part is in its place. I can figure it out, have to connect the tow pieces with a joint which will attaches the two pipe. Is it the right thing to do or replace the whole thing. How much of a task it will be. The car is loud right now since the exhaust do not pass through the tail pipe but completely escapes through the broken pipe. Should i get it done by mechanic. Below is diagram showing the breakage of the pipe.

Since I am here i will also ask this also. The car recently does not start easily. I mean it tries to starts but does not crank in 1st or 2nd attempt. I suspect battery which is fairly new btw. What else could be the problem. may be battery terminals.
