Hi,
does anyone have any idea how to remove some nylon rope that has melted onto my frontpipes ?
I ve tried running the bike until the pipes are very hot but this stuff is hard and stuck fast. I even tried a heat gun for removing paint and that didnt do anything.
What can I try next ?
Thanks,
Jeff.

A frustrating predicament. I too went through a similar issue when the sole of my wifes boot formed a dark glasslike bead on my pipes. One thing that helped was getting the pipes hot as you suggested, then thermally shocking the area with ice cubes, then using a wooden spoon to break and scrape the debris off. Hope this helps.

For boot marks try Eagle One Nevr-Dull, it can be found at Wal-Mart in the automotive section and other automotive stores. I tried everything including acetone on a mark left on my pipes by my sister-in-law when she went to see if she could flat-foot my C50...With the Nevr-Dull it came right off w/ little effort...It's a wadding cloth in a silver can w/ black and white lettering on it...

I copied and pasted this in the other thread too...

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I have managed to removed with the aid of a very sharp scalpel blade and great care and patience. But all is good with no scratches.
Jeff.
