how to remove wall mounted air conditioning units cover?

i have an old wall/window mounted a/c, it was there when i bought the house in 2007. it has worked o k but recently it is only blowing room temp. air.a repair man told me over the phone to save money, remove the cover and spray it down with water from the outside, But for some reason i can't get the cover off. i don't know if there are some screws that im missing?, Does it unscrew from the inside of the house? Please Help
