how to remove back pedals brakes off a bike?

ok look today i grabbed my bike to pump air into my wheels and then i tried a bunny hop but then when i landed it i almost fell because my pedals have brakes when u pedal backwards!!!
please help me i cant bmx with those pedal brakes on
