Hi....

I had the same issue. I was told to take SennacotK and Mirilax and drink lots and lots of water. Did you have a ALIF fusion? If so, that affects your bowels as well. The stuff I told you about, helped me lots....Good luck as I know that is miserable....

For me - good old fashioned prune juice worked wonders. My dad recently did the same after hip replacement surgery.

Turkish dried figs and some metamucil worked for me. If it was really bad I took a tablespoon of milk of magnesia at night.

The pain meRAB notoriously cause constipation. I take a Colace capsule with each pain pill I take.

As others have said, add fiber, fruit, prune juice, etc. Whatever works for you. After my surgery, I took the Colace and also ate a few prunes everyday. They have cherry essence and orange essence prunes now that are actually pretty good; nothing like those nasty dried up things we had when I was a kid.

Hang in there!
Emily
