How to release emergency break, 1988 cadillac eldorado?

Beside the left wall of the foot well (where the pedals are) is a small square pedal. This is your parking brake. To set it, just ush down to set the brakes.
To release the brakes, there is a handle just at the bottom edge of the dashboard in the same area. Grasp this handle and give it a pull. Ity will make a bit of noise, but that's okay, it is supposed to.
Make sure you are pulling the correct handle as the hood release is in that area also.
They are both marked with what they are.
 
These Cadillacs are made such that putting the gear selector out of Park will release the emergency brake. If you do not have the key so cannot take it out of park it has an emergency release. Look at the emergency brake pedal and near the top of the pedal will be a tab which can be pushed to release the brake. Be careful as the pedal will spring up and may smack you a good one when you release it this way.
